KENG will promote personal well-being through access to information, resources and learning opportunities that respond to the needs of the community using the strengths and resources of the Centre. Our purpose is to nurture a ‘strength based’ learning leadership environment that is innovative in providing opportunities that support, encourage and enhance positive community life skills. To keep the community informed KENG produces a monthly newsletter that provides information on current and future activities at the centre to read our current newsletter.
In November 2016, the Acting Coordinator of the KENG Immediate Supported Accommodation (ISA) Program was invited to speak at the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Queensland Branch Conference. The topic of the presentation centred on coordinated teamwork and the multiple benefits that can be derived from instilling this concept into models of service delivery targeting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Logan. A significant element of the presentation was a filmed interview with Kris Saunders and Teresa Scott who agreed to tell their inspiring story of how coordinated teamwork led to the formation of KENG. Many thanks goes to Robert Hinton who generously volunteered his equipment, time and energy to produce the film. To view the short film, please click on the following link
